Practising our ICT skills

At Hampstead we are lucky enough to have a computer pod full of laptops that we get to use every week to practise our ICT skills on.

We already know how to turn on the computer and open up Word but this week we learnt how to make a capital letter using shift or the caps lock button and to only put one space between our words when we type a sentence.

Miss Brown wanted to find out what we liked most about being at Hampstead school so she gave us these sentence starters...

1) My favourite part about school is... OR
2) I like being in Room 6 because...

Then we had to choose one, type it out and then tell her what our favourite part about school was or why we like being in Room 6.

While we did that she took some photos of us, check them out below!

We bet you are very curious about what we like about school and being in Room 6, so here is what we said. We typed it ourselves!

Swimming!!!

At Hampstead we are lucky enough to have our own school pool! We get to go swimming every day and practise lots of different skills; floating on our tummys and backs, gliding on our tummys and backs and diving under the water to pick rings up off the bottom of the pool.

On Fridays we get to have free swim and this is our favourite time because we get to use all the pool equipment e.g. noodles, balls, floating toys and heaps more... here are some photos of us enjoying our free swim Fridays!

Welcome to 2014 in Room 6!

Welcome back to the Room 6 blog from Hampstead School in Ashuburton! We have an all new class of 20 children, six Year 3's and fourteen Year 2's.

We have had a great start to the year. We have been swimming most days in our very own school pool, we have gotten to catch up with old friends and make some new friends.

Below are some photos of our new class, check them out and don't forget to keep coming back to our blog to see what we get up to over the year!
