Māori Legends

We have been reading some Māori legends in Room 6 this term. 

We have read Māui and the Sun, it was all about how Māui tried to slow down the sun so that him and his brothers could have time to gather food. After we read the legend we had to retell, to do this we wrote a sentence and then drew a picture for it.
They are up on our classroom window for everyone to see...

Another legend we have read is Tane and the Stars. This legend is about how the stars came to be in the sky.
Today we chose different musical instruments to represent the different parts of the story, watch our video below to see what we chose...

  2. Kymani-Cruz thought it was good that Paige was reading the book while the other children were playing the instruments. Annaliese liked it because it looked like fun. Maa liked the drums and that everyone was playing the instruments. Charlotte liked the sound of the instruments. WELL DONE Room 6.
